As a community school, we are legally required to provide a daily act of collective worship for all pupils. In line with government guidance, this is wholly or mainly of a broadly Christian character, while being inclusive and respectful of the diverse beliefs represented within our school community.
Our assemblies encourage children to reflect on important values, celebrate achievements, and develop spiritually, morally, socially and culturally. We welcome and respect pupils of all faiths and those with no religious faith, promoting understanding, kindness and respect for everyone. Parents have the legal right to withdraw their child from collective worship if they wish.
Our assemblies are designed to inspire, educate and encourage curiosity. They help children develop confidence, resilience, respect and empathy while fostering a strong sense of belonging within our school family.

Enrichment Assemblies
Our whole school enrichment assemblies introduce children to a wide range of exciting topics, careers, cultures and experiences beyond the classroom. We welcome visitors and speakers who inspire our pupils, encouraging them to explore new interests, develop aspirations and discover the many opportunities available to them.
Current Affairs
We use ‘Picture News’ to help our KS2 children explore and understand current events from around the world in an age-appropriate way. Through engaging images, stories and discussion, pupils learn about important local, national and global issues while developing their curiosity, critical thinking and communication skills alongside developing an understanding of the wider world, helping our pupils become informed, responsible and active citizens.
Open the Book
Our Open the Book assemblies are delivered by members of the local community and bring Bible stories to life through engaging storytelling and drama. These assemblies encourage our Reception and Key Stage 1 children to reflect on important themes such as kindness, forgiveness, courage, honesty and compassion, while promoting respect for different beliefs and values.
Class-Based PSHE Assemblies
Our class-based PSHE assemblies provide a safe and supportive space for pupils to explore relevant and pertinent topics that promote their personal, social and emotional development. Through discussion, stories and reflective activities, children learn about wellbeing, healthy relationships, keeping safe, diversity, resilience and making positive choices.
Singing Assemblies
Whole school singing assemblies are a joyful and uplifting part of our week. They give children the opportunity to develop their musical skills, build confidence and experience the enjoyment of singing together. Music brings our school community together, supports emotional wellbeing and creates lasting memories through shared experiences.
Celebration Assemblies
Our whole-school Celebration Assemblies are a special opportunity to recognise and celebrate the achievements, efforts and successes of our pupils. Each week, we focus on one of our school values of Respect, Achieve and Belong, or an aspect of them. We celebrate children who have demonstrated our school values thereby recognising not only academic success but also kindness, resilience, determination and positive contributions to our school community. These assemblies help to build a strong sense of pride and belonging, inspire pupils to be their very best, and reinforce the positive behaviours and attitudes that make our school a happy, inclusive and successful place to learn.
