OPAL Play Co-ordinator
Beech Green Primary School is situated in the heart of Quedgeley, on the outskirts of Gloucester. We are a popular two form entry primary school and have developed a very strong reputation in the local community for our high levels of care and support for all our pupils and their families. Our most recent Ofsted inspection rated the school as “Good”.
We have recently launched the OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) initiative in our school – a programme which improves the quality of every playtime and ensures that every child has the opportunity to explore and promote their personal development, behaviour and welfare through play.
We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our friendly, welcoming team as the OPAL Play Co-ordinator. This role would see the successful candidate leading the Play Team (previously known as mid-day supervisors) to ensure all children have daily access to exciting play activities, as well as resourcing, organising and facilitating current and new play opportunities. Acting as an ambassador for play, you should be familiar with the key Playwork Principles and be able to carry out continual risk assessments to make certain all children have a safe site for play. Communication, initiative, inter-personal skills and a love of children and play are vital for this role.
As this is a new post it is temporary in the first instance, but depending on funding, we would expect it to continue.
Please download the application form from the school website and email the completed form and your letter of application to firstname.lastname@example.org
This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of children and young people and expects all staff, governors and volunteers to share the same commitment. The successful candidate will be appointed subject to an enhanced DBS check, confirmation of appropriate qualifications and professional references.
